RE/MAX appoints Katie Scherping to board of directors
Katie Scherping, a longtime financial executive, has been appointed to the RE/MAX Holdings board of directors and will serve on the finance and investment committee.
katie Scherping, who has worked as a chief financial officer for nearly 20 years, will succeed board member Joe DeSplinter who in September announced his intention to retire.
"Katie's leadership track record of guiding well-known companies through transformative growth initiatives should be incredibly valuable as the Company navigates the shifting market," said Dave Liniger, Chairman of the Board & RE/MAX Co-Founder. "Her enthusiasm and passion for success meets the energy and momentum RE/MAX Holdings remains focused on maintaining."
Scherping retired as the CFO of the movie advertising company National CineMedia, Inc. in March 2020. Before that, she served as the CFO for sub sandwich company Quiznos and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers.
Gabe Richter tapped as CEO of Realty Austin
Gabe Richter was hired as CEO of Realty Austin | Realty San Antonio, overseeing the largest independent brokerage in Central Texas.
Richter has more than 20 years of experience in the residential real estate industry as a marketing, technology and operations executive. Richter joined the company as head of technology in 2018 after working at a national brokerage firm for more than 15 years.
As CEO, Richter announced the promotion of the company's executive leadership team including Jolene Weinstein as senior vice president of sales, Penelope Kemper as vice president of finance and human resources, Amanda Dudley as vice president of talent selection, and Kara Jones as vice president of marketing.
The company has more than 630 agents and $5.5 billion in annual sales, according to a news release. Realty Austin | Realty San Antonio was formed in 2004 by co-owners Jonathan Boatwright and Yvette Flores and was ranked #47 on T3 Sixty's 2022 Mega 1000.
Marcus Phipps to lead Texas Realtors association
Marcus Phipps was named chairman of the board for Texas Realtors, an association that represents more than 150,000 members.
Phipps entered the real estate industry in 1996 and has been the broker-owner of Harlingen Homes for nearly 18 years. He was formerly chairman of the Harlingen Association of Realtors, and he currently holds a director position at the National Association of Realtors.
"Representing the Texas Realtors organization and its members is a tremendous honor. I'm proud to put the experience, knowledge and abilities I have acquired throughout my 26-year career to work as we advance the association's goals in the coming year," said Phipps.
Jeryl Vallie-Cepida named vice president of Howard Hanna's Michigan region
Howard Hanna Real Estate Services has appointed Jeryl Vallie-Cepida vice president of the Michigan region.
Vallie-Cepida most recently served as the manager of the Adrian and Tecumseh offices, and she brings more than 23 years of experience to the new role.
A lifelong resident of Michigan, Vallie-Cepida is also a multimillion-dollar producer, according to a news release from the company.
