A Midwest real estate powerhouse has announced a changing of the guard.
Longtime Edina Realty executive Greg Mason, who has served as president and CEO of Edina Realty Home Services for more than a decade, is passing the torch to Edina Realty President Sharry Schmid, the company announced this week.
Mason began his tenure at Edina in 1986 as corporate counsel, later becoming president of Edina Realty Title. He has been CEO since 2014 and will now serve in an advisory capacity as chairman, supporting Schmid as she transitions into the top leadership role.
For her part, Schmid is no stranger to the company — she has been with Edina for nearly three decades, working in divisions including title, development and sales prior to being appointed president of Edina Realty in 2017.
"I've worked very closely with Sharry throughout her career, and I can say with confidence that Edina Realty Home Services is in capable and steady hands," Mason said in a news release, adding that Schmid "brings vision, strength and an unwavering dedication to our mission."
Schmid said she looks forward to continuing Mason's legacy, praising his "business acumen, technical aptitude and his incredible recall" and highlighting his ability to encourage "a collaborative and supportive culture without sacrificing a healthy sense of competition."
Mason was recognized as one of the most influential leaders in real estate in the 2025 SP 200, ranking 89th, and according to the Edina news release, "has long been considered an expert with remarkable depth and breadth of real estate knowledge, a calm and measured approach and a passion for technology."
Edina Realty is the largest residential real estate firm in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, according to the company, bringing in $7.4 billion in sales volume in 2024. Its 2,000+ agents work out of nearly 60 offices across the two Midwestern states as well as in southwest Florida.
