Editor's note: The brokerage business is a busy one, with frequent moves, mergers and milestones. Here we highlight some of the latest activity among brokerages across the U.S.

SERHANT. expands to DC metro area

SERHANT., the tech-focused brokerage founded by celebrity agent Ryan Serhant, has announced its expansion into the Washington, D.C., metro area, which also marks its entry into Maryland and Virginia. The move brings together 35 high-performing agents with a combined $500 million in sales volume over the last year, the company said.

Maryanne Moyers, Principal Broker, Serhant

Maryanne Moyers, a veteran broker with more than $5 billion in career sales, will lead the expansion as principal broker. Moyers was previously with Weichert as a branch vice president, and prior to that, was a managing broker with Long & Foster. Moyers will be joined by founding agents MJ Frazier, Lizzy Conroy and Antonio Nguyen.

"Joining SERHANT. was a deliberate decision grounded in shared values: integrity, innovation, and excellence," Moyers said in the announcement. "This move marks more than just a new chapter, it's a strategic partnership with a company that shares my vision for the future of real estate."

The high-demand D.C. area is strategically important as a hub for government, global business and high-net-worth clientele, the company noted. The launch follows SERHANT.'s recent expansion into Phoenix as it continues building out its national footprint.

Billion-dollar NYC broker joins Corcoran Group

The Corcoran Group announced this week that veteran New York City broker Kathy Murray has joined its East Side office, bringing with her more than $1 billion in lifetime sales volume and two decades of real estate experience.

Kathy Murray, Corcoran

Murray, a native New Yorker who previously served with Douglas Elliman for 20 years, has been recognized as one of the Big Apple's top 50 brokers and earned Elliman's Pinnacle Award annually from 2013 to 2024. Her recent deals include two sales exceeding $6 million on the Upper West Side, and she represents exclusive inventory at several Manhattan buildings, the company said. She will be joined by her three Elliman team members: Noah Meltzer, Lara Schecter and Rafael Vieria.

"Kathy is a fantastic agent, and I'm proud to have her join Corcoran," Pamela Liebman, Corcoran President and CEO, said in the announcement. "I have no doubt she will continue to make a major impact on the New York City real estate industry."

Murray cited Corcoran's brand strength and leadership in new development as key reasons for the move, saying that after 20 years with Elliman she was "ready for a new chapter" and seeking "to expand" on how she serves her clients, whether they were "buying, selling, investing, or developing" new real estate.

'Million Dollar Listing' star joins Elliman in Sarasota

Andrew Greenwell is the new managing broker of Douglas Elliman's Sarasota office on Florida's Gulf Coast, the company announced this week.

Andrew Greenwell, Managing Broker; Nikki Taylor, Sales Associate | Douglas Elliman Sarasota

Greenwell brings more than 20 years of brokerage leadership experience to Elliman, most recently leading Venture Sotheby's International Realty in California's East Bay region, a firm he founded in 2014. During his time at Venture, he starred in Million Dollar Listing San Francisco, and he has also led brokerages in Washington state and Hawaii, according to a news release.

His partner Nikki Taylor and two other team members have joined him in Sarasota — Greenwell's hometown. His return to the Gulf Coast "marks a full-circle moment," said Jay Phillip Parker, CEO of Elliman's Florida region. "Bringing him back to Sarasota, along with this high-caliber team, is a major win for Douglas Elliman and for this region," Parker added.

"Being third generation, Sarasota has always felt like home," Greenwell said, noting that his family has long been involved in construction and development in the area. "Now that I've returned, I'm eager to build a collaborative, forward-thinking culture with the Douglas Elliman team. After being away for 20 years and not seeing much change, it is clear that the industry is ready for a fresh approach."

Coldwell Banker adds trio of top agents

Three high performers have recently made the leap to Coldwell Banker: Monica Betancourt has joined the Coral Gables office after more than 17 years with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices; Brenda Souter has joined the Lake St. Louis/Wentzville office outside of St. Louis after a stint with eXp; and Celine Song has moved from Keller Williams to Coldwell Banker in Silicon Valley.

Betancourt began her real estate career in 2007, eventually establishing The Monica Betancourt Group as the No. 1 small team for residential sales while at BHHS, according to Coldwell Banker. She has averaged $50-60 million in annual sales volume in recent years, specializing in luxury home sales in South Florida.

"I am aligning with a brokerage that empowers me to give my clients the very best," Betancourt said in a press release. "It has become clear to me there is no better fit for this next chapter of my business."

Brenda Souter earned her real estate license six years ago and has since been recognized as one of the top 1% of agents serving the greater St. Louis, Missouri, region, according to Coldwell Banker.

"I was drawn to Coldwell Banker Realty because of its strong infrastructure and commitment to innovation — qualities that I believe will help me reach new milestones," Souter said in a news release. "This move represents an exciting new chapter in my career, and I'm thrilled to be part of such a collaborative and resource-rich environment."

On the West Coast, Song brings more than a decade of experience to the brand's Cupertino office. She transitioned to real estate after working in PR and marketing at Bay Area technology firms and was recently recognized by RealTrends as one of the top 1.5% of agents nationally, according to a news release.

"I'm excited to join Coldwell Banker Realty and continue serving the Bay Area community with the support of such a respected and innovative brokerage," Song said. "This move allows me to elevate the level of service I provide and help even more clients achieve their real estate goals."

Boca Raton's Korman Group joins Compass

Compass announced this week that it has added The Korman Group, led by top broker Michael Korman, to its Boca Raton office as part of its strategic expansion across South Florida's luxury market.

Korman's team brings over $400 million in sales since 2019, with reach spanning Florida's posh Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Jupiter markets.

"Michael's reputation, vision and track record for building high-performing teams aligns seamlessly with Compass' mission," said Jeff Polashuk, regional vice president at Compass. "Together, we're raising the standard for luxury real estate in Boca Raton and beyond."

Boca Raton remains a key growth market for Compass due to its robust luxury demand and position as a gateway to South Florida's broader real estate sector. Korman, previously founder of Korman Realty, was named the #10 agent in Boca Raton by individual sales volume and is nationally ranked in the top 1% of agents.

"Compass offers something unlike anything I've seen in our industry," Korman said in the announcement. "This move is more than a transition — it's the start of our next and greatest chapter."
