Christie's eyes 'next phase of our growth' with new hire
Christie's International Real Estate is seeking new growth opportunities through its hiring of G. Scott Hurlock, who will serve as the luxury brand's first senior vice president of strategic growth.
Hurlock, who brings over 20 years of real estate sales and marketing experience, most recently was the SVP of expansion at Engel & Völkers. While there, he oversaw a merger that brought in over $1.3 billion in new business as part of the brand's expansion efforts, according to a press release. Hurlock also previously worked at HomeSmart, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and Anywhere (when it was known as Realogy).
At Christie's, Hurlock will be focused on pursuing new partnerships and expansion opportunities with existing affiliates through mergers and acquisitions — initiatives that will be bolstered by his "connections and strategic expertise," said Gavin Swartzman, who was named president of Christie's earlier this year.
The brand's "excellence in brokerage operations, marketing, technology and affiliate services is best in class, and the strength of ownership signals a very bright future," Hurlock said in the release, adding that he is eager to build on its "storied pedigree and strong foundation to help create the world's preeminent luxury real estate network."
MetroList taps brokerage veteran for sales and marketing role
MetroList, the largest MLS in Northern California with over 20,000 members, also has growth in mind with its latest hire. The organization announced this week that Brian Groth will serve as its first-ever director of sales and marketing, pursuing expansion opportunities and boosting engagement by working with agents, brokers and other industry professionals, according to a news release.
Groth arrives at MetroList with over 20 years of experience shaping agents and working in real estate operations and sales. He most recently spent over 10 years at RE/MAX Gold, where he managed offices in the Sacramento area and served as vice president of agent development.
Groth's career thus far has been "defined by strategic direction, technology expertise, and an agent-first approach," the release noted, adding that Groth has become known for his success propelling company growth and agent retention.
His "extensive leadership experience, deep understanding of agent needs, and strong track record in education make him an outstanding addition to our team," MetroList President and CEO Dave Howe said.
