Brothers Tal, Oren and Alon Alexander were convicted this week following a weekslong sex trafficking trial in New York City.

A Manhattan jury returned the guilty verdict for the two celebrity real estate brokers and their brother on March 9.

How we got here: The Alexander brothers — Tal, 39, and Oren and Alon, 38 — were arrested in December 2024 and charged with sex trafficking.

At the time, then-U.S. Attorney Damian Williams alleged that the three brothers "repeatedly and violently sexually assaulted and raped dozens of female victims" over several years, with an FBI spokesperson adding that they "allegedly conspired using their wealth and status to prey on innocent women."

The brothers have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. In November 2025, they filed a defamation lawsuit against The Real Deal related to the outlet's reporting on the allegations.

Tal and Oren Alexander became industry celebrities while working at Douglas Elliman in the 2010s. They went on to launch their own luxury brokerage in 2022.

What the brothers were convicted of: The Alexander brothers were found guilty of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, among other federal sex offenses.

Eleven women, each of whom has said they were sexually assaulted by at least one of the Alexanders, testified against the brothers at trial. These 11 witnesses "demonstrated that the Alexander brothers conspired to repeatedly lure, drug, and rape young women," U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton said in a March 9 statement.

Clayton described the verdict as "an important step in our fight against sex trafficking," adding that federal sex offenses "are all too prevalent in our society and all too often go unreported and unpunished."

"This verdict cannot undo the effects of heinous abuse the Alexanders' many victims endured, but it does send a message: New Yorkers want to bring an end to sex trafficking in all our communities," Clayton said.

Defense attorney vows to 'keep fighting': Speaking with reporters outside the courtroom after the verdict was read, Marc Agnifilo, an attorney for Oren Alexander, said he intends to continue representing his client as they explore appellate options.

"There are a lot of avenues open to us. We're not going to stop. We believe in our clients' innocence, and we're not going to stop fighting until we prevail," Agnifilo said, adding, "We believe that we will one day prevail."

What happens next: Now that the trial is over, the brothers could face sentences of up to life in prison. Their sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 6.
