Editor's note: As an industry with millions of agents and over 100,000 brokerage companies, new leaders rise to the top every day. Here we highlight executives and other notable leaders who've recently taken on, or stepped away from, roles that influence the residential real estate landscape.

Windermere adds chief growth officer

Windermere Real Estate has appointed Diana Wall to serve as its first chief growth officer, creating a new executive role focused on the company's long-term expansion strategy across its independent brokerage network. The position reflects Windermere's investment in measured growth as the residential real estate industry continues to evolve, according to a news release.

Wall brings nearly 30 years of industry experience. She joins Windermere from Douglas Elliman, where she served as executive director of global growth, and previously held senior leadership roles at Anywhere Real Estate and REMAX, leading initiatives related to franchise development, mergers and acquisitions, market expansion and organizational growth.

In her new role, Wall will oversee growth with a focus on identifying expansion opportunities and strengthening the platform for affiliated brokerages and agents while supporting its independent brokerage model. The family-owned firm is already the largest regional real estate company in the Western U.S., with roughly 6,000 agents across more than 300 offices, according to its website.

"From the moment I began learning more about Windermere, it became clear why the company has continued to thrive for more than five decades," Wall said. "Its reputation, independent brokerage model, and deep commitment to its agents and communities create an incredible foundation for what comes next."

Windermere exec in California to depart

Pat Shea, the president, CEO and broker of record of Windermere Signature Properties, has announced that it is "time for me to say farewell" following "15 extraordinary years" leading the firm. His departure comes just a few months after he joined the Broker Public Portal's 2026 board of managers.

"My journey was inspirational, educational, collaborative and at times somewhat stressful but always amazing and rewarding," Shea said in a recent post on LinkedIn.

"I remain eternally grateful for the hard work, loyalty, tremendous support and friendship from our agents, employees, clients and friends throughout Greater Sacramento," Shea's post continued. "Nothing lasts forever though, and I have decided that now is the time to pursue other interests and new adventures."

Shea and his firm, formerly Lyon Real Estate, joined the Windermere family in 2021 and went on to adopt the brand's name in late 2024. Prior to the 2021 acquisition, Lyon Real Estate was the Sacramento area's largest independent brokerage.
