Editor's note: Technology is a driving force in real estate. From startups to established players, tech companies are constantly innovating, growing and forging partnerships. Here we highlight some of the latest news about the companies that help power the industry.

Compass launches 'AI Assistant' for Home Platform

Compass International Holdings has introduced AI Assistant, a conversational AI tool integrated into its Home Platform that enables agents to complete tasks using natural language prompts. The launch comes weeks after the company unveiled the Home Platform and expands its AI capabilities across that platform's workflow tools.

AI Assistant can access information across an agent's contacts, pipeline, marketing activity and task list to automate administrative work, including updating client records, drafting follow-up emails, creating saved searches, scheduling reminders and managing transactions, according to a news release. It also provides personalized daily briefings and surfaces business opportunities, such as "Likely to Sell" recommendations, based on an agent's existing data.

The company said early users have used the tool to prioritize outreach, reconnect with past clients and automate follow-up activities.

"Instead of learning software, agents tell AI Assistant what they want to accomplish, and the Home Platform does the work," said Rory Golod, who was promoted to President of Growth at Compass earlier this year. "AI Assistant should feel like having a real assistant alongside you. The more administrative work we eliminate, the more time agents have to advise clients, negotiate great outcomes, and focus on the work that matters most."

Redfin adds historical weather data to home listings

Redfin has partnered with The Weather Company, which operates The Weather Channel app and weathercompany.com, to add historical weather information to every for-sale listing that appears on its website and mobile apps. The move will give homebuyers access to localized climate data as they evaluate properties.

As a result of this partnership, Redfin's for-sale listings now display ZIP code-level weather metrics, including average temperature, precipitation, snowfall, humidity and UV index. The integration is designed to help buyers better understand year-round weather conditions as climate and weather considerations play a larger role in relocation decisions, according to a news release.

The Weather Company now serves as Redfin's exclusive provider of historical weather data. The addition expands Redfin's property information offerings, joining existing features such as First Street climate risk data, Walk Score walkability data and Sunscore, which measures the amount of sunlight a property receives.

Realtor.com doubles Market Clock footprint

Realtor.com has expanded its Market Clock tool to cover the nation's 100 largest metro areas, doubling its previous reach and providing a broader view of local housing market conditions.

The Market Clock displays housing conditions on a 12-hour clock face, with "12" representing the strongest sellers market and "6" the strongest buyers market. The company said the latest data shows 70% of tracked markets either favor buyers or are trending in that direction — up from 52% a year ago — while the national market remains in a balanced but buyer-leaning position.

Nineteen of the 100 metros tracked were buyers markets in the second quarter of 2026 — the largest share for the spring season since 2019, according to a news release. But regional differences remain pronounced, with most buyer-friendly markets concentrated in the South and seller-favored markets clustered in parts of the Midwest and Northeast.

"A national number can only tell you so much," Realtor.com Senior Economist Jake Krimmel said. "Doubling our coverage to 100 metros lets us show that fragmentation and broad-based buyer-friendly momentum in a way a single headline number never could."

Compaire unveils platform for brokerage, team comparisons

Compaire has launched an early-access version of its career intelligence platform, a private marketplace designed to help real estate agents evaluate brokerages and teams before making a career move. The company said its Founding Cohort is limited to 500 agents and 50 organizations across select pilot markets.

The platform allows agents to compare brokerages based on factors like compensation structure, lead generation, value proposition and company culture without initiating recruiter contact. Compaire also offers AI-generated fit scores and side-by-side comparisons, while providing brokerages and teams with analytics intended to help them assess their competitive position and improve recruiting strategies.

Compaire Founder and CEO Jesse Garcia, who previously co-founded Zipi and held leadership roles at Maverick Real Estate and PLACE, said the platform was developed in response to increased agent mobility.

"Agents frequently choose where to build businesses with less data than they'd gather for a single listing," Garcia said in a news release. "Compaire empowers agents to make data-driven decisions that maximize financial outcomes, while giving brokerages a clear read on what genuinely drives retention in their market."

The company said it is accepting applications for early access ahead of a broader rollout.

Rechat launches campaign highlighting voice-powered AI assistant

Rechat has launched "Hey Lucy," a new marketing campaign showcasing how real estate agents can use the company's AI assistant, Lucy, to complete everyday business tasks through voice commands. The video-first campaign features agents using the technology in real-world settings, including while driving between appointments, arriving at listings and leaving open houses.

Lucy, which Rechat officially launched about a year ago, can perform a range of functions across the Rechat platform, including updating CRM records, creating single-property websites, drafting listing descriptions and social media posts, sending market reports, running buyer searches and requesting client testimonials. The campaign is intended to demonstrate how voice-based AI can reduce administrative work and streamline agents' daily workflows, according to a news release.

The ads will run through the end of the summer across Meta, Google and other digital platforms, with additional videos scheduled for release during the campaign, the company said.
