Editor's note: The brokerage business is a busy one, with frequent moves, mergers and milestones. Here we highlight some of the latest activity among brokerages across the U.S.

Compass' Big Apple footprint grows

Compass is expanding its sizable brand presence in New York City — its home turf — with the addition of Manhattan-based Coldwell Banker Warburg. The firm, currently led by Coldwell Banker Regional VP Kevelyn Guzman, will operate as Warburg at Compass moving forward.

CB Warburg agents were told about the move last week, according to The Real Deal, which was first to report the news.

"We're excited that Warburg's agents are joining Compass' New York City operations," Compass spokesperson Devin Daly Huerta said in a statement. "Our focus is on providing these professionals with the enhanced resources and opportunities for collaboration to help them deliver even greater value to their clients."

CB Warburg, which lists over 100 agents on its online roster, joined Compass parent company Compass International Holdings earlier this year as part of the firm's acquisition of Anywhere Real Estate. This latest move shows CB Warburg now picking up the Compass brokerage banner.

Further details of the deal, including the timing of the transition, were not disclosed at the time of publication.

California indie opens in second state

Equity Union Real Estate has expanded into Nevada, marking the independent brokerage's first move outside California. The new operation will be led by Jason Lindstrom, who will serve as regional director for southern Nevada and the Coachella Valley. Melissa Dominguez-Martin is also joining the Nevada operation as the brokerage's managing and compliance broker in the Silver State.

Lindstrom brings more than 26 years of real estate experience, with past roles encompassing brokerage leadership, recruiting and coaching. Dominguez-Martin, who previously founded the Dominguez-Martin Group, has more than 24 years of industry experience and specializes in REO, HUD and short-sale transactions, according to a news release.

The Nevada office will offer Equity Union's existing agent support platform, including marketing, technology, legal and operational resources, the company said. Lindstrom will also continue supporting the brokerage's Coachella Valley region in California, where Equity Union has more than 270 agents.

"Our expansion into Nevada is an incredibly exciting moment for Equity Union," CEO Harma Hartouni said. "Southern Nevada is a dynamic and rapidly evolving market, and Jason Lindstrom is exactly the kind of proven leader we want representing the Equity Union brand as we continue expanding nationally."
