Editor's note: The brokerage business is a busy one, with frequent moves, mergers and milestones. Here we highlight some of the latest activity among brokerages across the U.S.
Luxury $750M team joins Real
Joy Aumann and Robert Aumann, founders of LUXURYSOCALREALTY, have joined The Real Brokerage, bringing their 10-member San Diego team into Real's luxury division and expanding the company's reach across Southern California's coastal markets.
The team, which has generated more than $750 million in career sales volume, serves buyers and sellers in La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, Pacific Beach and Solana Beach. Their focus is luxury coastal properties, oceanfront estates and second homes, according to a news release.
Real Chief Growth Officer Jason Cassity praised the team for building "a brand that resonates at the highest end of the market," one that he said has become "one of San Diego's most notable luxury real estate businesses."
Robert Aumann said Real "gives agents the ability to build their own brands and businesses while being part of a strong community" — an approach that he said "really resonated with us" — while Joy Aumann noted that the cloud-based brokerage's platform "gives us an opportunity to build on what we've created in San Diego while expanding" into other markets.
Moving forward, the team said it plans to build on its existing market base while exploring new business opportunities in Orange County, Riverside and Palm Desert.
C21 adds 53-agent Arizona affiliate
Indie Realty has affiliated with Century 21, bringing its 53 agents into the brand's network as the Tucson brokerage plans further growth across southern Arizona. The firm will now do business as Century 21 Indie Realty.
Founded by Broker-owner and CEO Don Geisler, the five-year-old firm serves residential and commercial clients in Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Vail, Sahuarita, Green Valley and Corona de Tucson. Branch Manager Jacque Torres oversees day-to-day operations, drawing on her 10 years of real estate experience serving clients in Pima County, according to a news release.
Through the affiliation, the brokerage will gain access to Century 21's technology, marketing, lead generation, training and coaching resources. The firm intends to open two more offices in the Tucson metro area before considering expansion farther north.
Geisler said he founded Indie Realty with "the mission of creating a dynamic, vibrant organization that appeals" to both agents and consumers. "Going forward, that will continue to be the core of the Indie Realty identity," he added.
2 teams make the move to Christie's New York
Christie's International Real Estate New York has added the Daniel Kramp Team and Morrel Hirsch & Advisors Team to its roster, the luxury firm announced this week. The move brings 18 people to the brokerage from The Agency One Rock, a former Christie's affiliate that left the brand in June.
The Daniel Kramp Team is led by Daniel Kramp, whose career sales total nearly $1 billion, according to a news release.
Kramp said he was excited to rejoin Christie's International Real Estate, noting that "our clients value the heritage and exclusivity of the Christie's brand, and I look forward to continuing to give them that experience and global exposure."
Morrel Hirsch & Advisors is an 11-agent team led by Howard Morrel and Leslie Hirsch. The team works with luxury buyers and sellers, and it will also continue operating as CIRE's Trusts & Estates Division, handling estate and trust property sales and valuations. Morrel and Hirsch have completed more than $3.5 billion in combined transactions.
"Our business has always been relationship-driven. We represent buyers and sellers across New York, while also advising families, fiduciaries, and professional advisors on highly complex real estate matters," Morrel said. "Christie's gives us an extraordinary platform to continue serving those clients at the highest level."
More brokerage news
Compass has announced that Perry Minter, a founder of Compass Chicago, is returning to serve as the associate sales manager of the brokerage's Windy City location. The move feels "like coming home," Minter said in a news release. She said she is excited to "support agents, help them grow their businesses, and be someone they can turn to" in her new role. Compass Regional VP Fran Broude praised Minter's "incredible understanding of our culture, our platform, and the way our agents work," adding that Minter "is uniquely positioned to make an immediate impact."
The Agency has added Michael Holt and The Holt Team to its New York City operations. Holt comes to The Agency from Compass, where he closed roughly $39.5 million in sales volume over the past 12 months. The team takes a tech-forward approach, according to a news release, and works with clients across New York and Florida. Holt, who began his real estate career more than 12 years ago, is joined by team members Daniel Lochnicki and Mike DiJune.
Realty of America this week unveiled its Young Producers Network, a new national initiative aimed at Realty agents 30 and under. The network will give these young agents a place to share ideas, expand their referral pools and discuss the challenges they're facing and goals they have for their careers moving forward. The creation of this community is intended "to help young agents avoid years of costly trial and error and shorten their path to lasting success and wealth," according to a news release, with Founder and CEO Eddie Garcia adding that his firm aims to "support them, invest in them and open doors to people who have already built what they are working toward."
Christie's International Real Estate is broadening its reach in the Eastern Caribbean with the launch of a new location in St. Lucia. Christie's St. Lucia is owned by Dominique Silvera — who also owns Christie's locations in Barbados and Anguilla — and Kisha Hunte. The firm will be led by Chris Owen, who brings over a decade of local experience to the role, according to a news release. The country "has world-class resorts and residences but retains an authentic sense of place that makes you feel like you've left the world behind," Silvera said, adding that the team sees opportunity in pairing local market expertise with the global brand's network "to serve a growing base of international buyers, sellers and investors."
