Editor's note: The brokerage business is a busy one, with frequent moves, mergers and milestones. Here we highlight some of the latest activity among brokerages across the U.S.
Michigan firm parts with KW to go independent
Glover Agency has become an independent brokerage after 17 years with Keller Williams, a move the company said will allow it to operate under its own brand while preserving its team model and supporting the broader industry through its coaching business.
The transition took effect Nov. 1 and follows Founder Jeff Glover's decision to sell his three Keller Williams market centers over the summer. The firm's agents will continue to receive team-based services — including coaching, marketing, leads and day-to-day support — under a brand the company itself controls, according to a news release.
Since its founding as Jeff Glover & Associates in 2008, the company has sold more than 10,000 homes and operates from four locations: Birmingham, Plymouth, Fenton and Grand Rapids. Moving forward, Glover Agency will focus exclusively on Michigan clients and will not be affiliated with a franchise brand.
"Being broker-agnostic is one of the main reasons I made this move," Glover said. Becoming independent achieves that goal, he added, "and it's what lets me show up for every agent and leader in this business, regardless of whose name is on the sign."
30-agent firm joins Real in the Hawkeye State
The Real Brokerage has added a 30-agent Dubuque, Iowa-based firm formerly known as Unlimited into its network.
Now operating as The Team, the group has completed approximately 5,000 transactions valued at $1.2 billion over the past six years, and it is on pace to close 500 transactions in 2026, according to a news release.
Owners Cody Burger and Dennis Buchheit said they plan to use Real's technology platform to streamline operations, support agents and recruit in additional markets. Burger, who has overseen operations while maintaining his own production, expects the move to create more time for agent development and business growth while Buchheit, who brings over 30 years of industry experience, said he is excited to align with a brand that is "thinking about where real estate is headed."
"Cody and Dennis have built a business with a strong regional presence and a clear vision for growth," Real SVP of Growth Joel Kirsch said. "They bring valuable operational experience, production success and an entrepreneurial mindset."
Corcoran franchisee acquires 20-agent Tennessee firm
Corcoran Reverie has announced its acquisition of NextHome Music City Realty, adding 20 agents and a Murfreesboro office as the franchisee expands its presence across middle Tennessee.
The brokerage will now operate under the Corcoran Reverie name, with Co-owners Tad Ritchison and Todd Grubaugh continuing to lead the team serving Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro and nearby communities. The acquisition brings Corcoran Reverie's roster to more than 150 agents across Tennessee and Florida, according to a news release.
NextHome Music City Realty was founded in 2018 and came under Ritchison and Grubaugh's ownership in 2021. Its business spans residential, luxury and commercial real estate, along with land and development. Under the new affiliation, agents will have access to Corcoran's marketing and technology platforms and global referral network.
Ritchison and Grubaugh "have built exactly the kind of relationship-driven firm we look for," Corcoran Reverie Broker-Owner Hilary Farnum-Fasth said. "Their experience across residential, commercial and development work deepens what we can offer clients throughout the region, and we're proud to welcome them and their agents to Corcoran Reverie."

SERHANT this week announced a change to its leadership team in Naples, Florida. Nicole Hogue, who joined the firm in the spring of 2025 with a focus on agent and operations support, will now lead sales operations as associate sales manager for SERHANT Naples. Hogue will work closely with SERHANT Naples Founding Agents Matt Chionis and Megan Chionis as she prioritizes "guiding agents through strategy, negotiation, compliance and growth so every agent has what they need to serve clients at the highest level," the company said in a news release.
Premier Sotheby's International Realty has expanded in North Carolina again with the addition of a new office in downtown Boone. The location will be led by Managing Broker Patti Turner and will strengthen the firm's "already important High Country presence" while giving Premier SIR "another platform from which to serve customers throughout the region," said President Jackie Thiel, who is preparing to take over as CEO. The announcement comes four months after Premier SIR's earlier expansion in the area, which took the form of a new office launch in Hendersonville.
