Founded by Glenn Stanford with the goal of being the first large-scale cloud-based brokerage, eXp went public in 2013 and entered an exclusive deal with Virbela, a cloud-based immersive workspace provider to create a virtual real estate platform. In 2018, eXp purchased Virbela and started trading on Nasdaq.
The company had a busy year in 2020, acquiring media company Success Enterprise and search technology company Showcase IDX, and launching eXp Commercial and eXp Global. By 2022, eXp had a presence in 22 countries.
