Remodeling impact report
The 2022 Remodeling Impact Report by NAR gives the estimated costs of 19 remodeling and replacement projects and includes the percentage of agents who would recommend the project based on its appeal to homebuyers. The report compares the estimated cost of a project to the value it would add to a home at resale to come up with a "recovered project cost."
Highlights

25% of agents reported increased demand for both upgraded and remodeled kitchens during the pandemic.
Adding a new bathroom is among the home improvements least recommended by agents.
For exterior projects, roofing and garage doors tied at 100% for recovery costs.
The highest agent recommendations for sellers were 33% for replacing roofs and 48% for painting the entire interior of a home.
