The end of ‘pick a side’ real estate technology

Every broker I talk to has some version of the same story. They pick a CRM for the whole office, a separate tool for coaching, another for recruiting. A few months in, half the office is quietly running something else, because that's what worked for them before they got there. You can deploy a tech stack but you cannot guarantee loyalty to it.

For 20 years, that's been the tradeoff. Force everyone onto one system and lose some percentage of adoption anyway, or let agents scatter across a dozen tools with zero visibility into what's actually happening in the business. Pick your poison.

Here's what changed: AI can now connect systems that were never built to talk to each other, and get them working as one, regardless of which CRM an agent happens to prefer. That means a brokerage no longer has to choose between standardizing on one tool and letting agents use what they actually like.

No one has truly been able to do this before now. The tools just weren't there yet. What we built at Inside Real Estate is the thing that finally lets them make every tool their agents already use work as one connected system, whether the vendors behind those tools intended that or not.

We call it Streams Studio.

The idea is simple, even if the engineering wasn't. A brokerage builds its playbook once, and it runs across every tool its agents actually use. Streams Studio is a no-code platform that connects to whatever your agents are already running, any CRM, any stack, and gives you the kind of workflows you previously would've needed a team of engineers to build. You still design it exactly how you want. You just don't have to write a line of code to make it real.

I think about the brokerage whose best recruiting pitch falls apart because the tech doesn't match what an agent already knows. Or the coaching methodology that only lives in one director's head because there was never a way to build it into every agent's workflow. Those leaks compound, and they're often the difference between a brokerage that scales and one that plateaus.

We've already seen the shape of this working. The Streams App has surpassed 25,000 downloads across iOS and Android. Agents using it are at least 30% more engaged than agents on a traditional CRM, sending 2.5 times more texts and making 7 times more calls.

That's the bar I want AI held to across this whole industry: Does it move the business forward, or did it just do a task. Streams Studio is built to hold everything a brokerage or team touches to that same bar, not just the parts we happen to own.

For a long time, the winning move for a brokerage was picking the best walled garden and getting every agent to move in for good. What we've actually learned watching brokerages operate is that agents were never moving in for good. They were always going to keep the tools they liked and work around whatever got forced on them. AI is just what finally makes forcing it unnecessary.

Streams Studio is available now to an invite-only cohort of teams and brokerages, with broader access coming later this year.
