As consolidation continues to impact the industry, a new strategic acquisition was announced on Thursday: HomeServices of America has purchased real estate marketing agency 1000WATT.

HomeServices said the deal will allow its operating companies and HSF Affiliates more resources while also "supporting the company's evolution from a quiet industry juggernaut to a leading voice for consumers and real estate professionals."

Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

A platform for a 'sharpened' HomeServices: Brian Boero and Marc Davison founded 1000WATT in 2007, and over the years the agency has become known as a staple in the industry for its creativity, research and technology.

The deal between the two companies, which was first reported by Inman, will help give HomeServices a "sharpened voice," according to a press release, bringing additional consumer intelligence and strategy to HomeServices companies and its affiliates.

1000WATT's nearly two-decade span working in the industry will provide HomeServices with knowledge and skill set "that is difficult to replicate," HomeServices of America President and CEO Chris Kelly said in a statement.

"Bringing this team and the research platform they've built inside HomeServices gives us an extraordinary combination of industry knowledge, research, strategy and creative talent to help us further execute our vision of a Complete Real Estate Experience."

New C-suite roles for founders: With the acquisition, Boero will become chief marketing and strategy officer of HomeServices of America, while Davison will become chief creative officer.

The companies noted that 1000WATT's full team will join HomeServices with the deal. The move comes just a few months after HomeServices debuted its unifying platform "OnePoint" in April of this year, which 1000WATT helped lead. The brokerage company also launched a redesigned website and new visual identity in March of this year and added mortgage servicing in August.

A new focus for 1000WATT: In a statement posted to their website, Boero and Davison wrote that "Now is the right time to focus our energies on something big, challenging, and important. HomeServices provides us that opportunity."

They also referenced HomeServices' evolution since its leadership change in April 2025. "This is a company that has been quiet by design — too quiet, arguably — slowly building an enterprise that operated as a holding company. That changed when Chris Kelly's tenure as CEO began last year and major investments in technology, marketing, and data infrastructure began. HomeServices has been a client of 1000WATT for almost a year now, and we have seen this up close. It's the real deal."

Boero noted that discussions about a possible acquisition began while the two companies were working together "but really became focused over the summer as we became even more deeply involved in major HSoA initiatives. It just felt like a natural next step."

Supporting HomeServices' brand growth: Boero said HomeServices has successfully developed a "singular" company spanning national brokerage, mortgage, title and insurance services.

"We've seen that unique structural advantage come alive in the past year working with Chris and the HomeServices team, and can't wait to bring all of our energies to bear on an effort of this reach, scale and ambition," the marketing exec said in a statement.

Davison added that after working with so many HomeServices of America companies over the years, the idea of uniting the companies was particularly appealing.

"We know their markets," Davison said in a statement. "We know their cultures. We know many of their people. We now have the opportunity to work with them to magnify their individual and collective brand power."
